The Riddler
Being born with the name Edward Nygma (E.Nygma, geddit?) rather destined this man to enter a life of mystery making. He began as a carnival worker who delighted in cheating his customers, before moving on to expansive crimes for bigger kicks. Good at crosswords.
Would he work in Nolan's world?
A character enamoured of his own intelligence and seeking out Batman as the only one who can challenge him would be a perfect fit. The elaborate riddles would probably have to stretch more to terrorist style plots for Batman to solve before disaster strikes to maintain the right feel. The quizzical leprechaun look would have to go, but we can definitely envisage this.
Who would we cast?
Someone quiet, awkward and absorbed in his own thoughts, not the traditional camp comedian. Casey Affleck would nail it.
