Bernard Hill (accepting Sony Ericsson Best Scene for Ride of the Rohirrim)
"Thank you - they're still clearing up the horse shit now. They really weren't that many - it was Peter Jackson and his digital crew that did the most of it. I suppose we all know about the grandeur of LOTR and the dynamics it achieved. But that scene showed a different side of the work process that we all went thorugh on LOTR because we all went up with the writers and had our little input into the scenes. One of the times I went up and I had this idea of going down the front of the spears with my sword. And such was the process that it eventually got into the script. And I think a lot of the actors involved had a similar process - there was a massive input to what eventually turned out on the screen...For me it's a special thing this award. I'm really proud of this because it reflected the work process and I'm really proud of that and the fact that you could suggest something and your dream could come true. Because that was my dream and that was how I envisaged the final battle at Pelennor Fields to be. So I'm very grateful for this and I shall treasure this probably more than anything. Thank-you."
