Hello everybody at the Empire Awards. I'm very sorry I can't be there tonight. I know people say that at awards when they can't be there, but I truly mean it. I wish I could be there tonight. Instead, I'm actually chained to my editor Sally Menke. But I am speaking to you now via the magic of audio cassette tape and I want to thank - one- Empire magazine. I would like to thank the fantastic cool readers of Empire magazine who voted to help get me this award. But in particular I would like to put a thank you out to the entire bloody country of the United Kingdom for supporting me more than any other country on the planet earth. From the beginning of my career starting with Reservoir Dogs and keeping with that very fine tradition of Quentin Tarantino appreciation and going all the way to Kill Bill Vol 1. Hopefully you intend to keep it up for Kill Bill Vol. 2...In the meantime, thank you for this award. It will go in a very special place on my shelf. And I will be looking at it for years and years to come. See you there, hopefully if I don't piss off the readers, when it comes to Volume 2. Have a good time tonight. Cheerio.
