Best Director Chris Nolan The Prestige
Christopher Nolan's star continues to rise through the directorial ranks and it doesn't look like stopping any time soon. He's about to re-team with his Bat-buddies to begin production on his second leap into the world of the Dark Knight, but there's an awful lot more to Nolan's bow than his associations with Gotham's most famous citizen. Last year he gave us smoke and mirrors epic The Prestige, in which the quick-trickery of the story's stage magicians was equally matched by the director's masterly knack for drawing the audience into a web of conundrums - pushing, pulling and contorting you through a movie only a filmmaker of Nolan's class could have pulled off.
