John Goodman & Ken Watanabe Join Transformers 4
They're voicing Autobots...

Principal photography has been finished for a while on Transformers: Age Of Extinction. But with a group of new robots to find voices for, that doesn’t mean Michael Bay has stopped adding cast members. Two new additions have just been announced, with John Goodman and Ken Watanabe set to lend their tonsil talents.

Goodman, last seen in The Monuments Men, will be Hound, an experienced Autobot commando who throws himself into tasks with relish. He transforms into an armoured tactical defence vehicle.

Watanabe’s Drift, meanwhile, is described as a master of ancient weaponry who always remains calm and controlled during combat. His history includes time fighting alongside the Decepticons, and he still bears the scars of his dark past.

The Hollywood Reporter’s story also mentions John DiMaggio (Crosshairs), Mark Ryan (Lockdown), Reno Wilson (Brains) and Robert Foxworth (Ratchet). Frank Welker, who has long voiced various robo-characters, is Galvatron who – spoiler alert – is listed as a creation of humans tinkering with Transformer technology. He becomes the Decepticons’ new leader. Has he been crafted from the wreck of Megatron? We’ll find out soon enough.

These new voices join the human cast, which includes Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz, Jack Reynor, T.J. Miller, Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammer and Sophia Myles. Transformers: Age Of Extinction will be out on July 10.
