You remember when we said Bruce Willis only seems interested in action films right now? It was a couple of weeks ago, and he’s proving it again, spilling ink on a deal to star in futuristic thriller Vice for Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films.
Andre Fabrizio and Jeremy Passmore, who wrote one of the other films Willis has just finished, The Prince, are on script duty for this one. Vice is set in a world where humans can live out their wildest, most perverse fantasies on androids. One of the droids becomes self-aware and breaks out with the intent of shutting the whole operation down.
Ambyr Childers (2 Guns) is playing the rogue mechanoid, while Willis will be Julian, the owner of a resort that caters to the depraved. It all sounds very Philip K. Dick meets Isaac Asimov, but probably won’t aspire to the high-minded ideas of either. We’re thinking more sexbots gone wild with a side order of Surrogates, and we’re sort of surprised Bruce wanted to dabble with a robotic future tale again after the disappointment of that one.
There’s no mention of a director in Deadline’s report on the film, but the producers want it in front of cameras in Alabama starting March 15.
