Dan Stevens Joins Night At The Museum 3
He'll play Lancelot

10 November 2013  |  Written by James White  |  Source: Variety

There’s no avoiding it: the world is getting a Night At The Museum 3. Director Shawn Levy has been talking about it for a while and just last month, word arrived that Robin Williams was making a deal to return as Teddy Roosevelt. A newcomer to the franchise has now emerged, as Variety reports that Downton Abbey's Dan Stevens will be Lancelot in the new movie.

Beyond the fact that Ben Stiller will be back as Larry Daley and the possibility of a trip to London this time, very little has been revealed about Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant’s latest script for the family-friendly franchise. Stevens’ casting and character certainly seem to support the idea of a trip to our fair capital city, however. Let’s hope the Natural History Museum (assuming that’s where the living exhibits are headed) survives. Either that, or Greenwich might get a kick up the architecture again.

Stevens has been building his cine-CV since departing Downton. He’s worked on Summer In February, The Fifth Estate, crime drama A Walk Among The Tombstones with Liam Neeson and thriller The Guest. He’s also attached to a new version of Swallows And Amazons and romantic drama An Affair.

Other museums?
Pitt Rivers in Oxford would be very cool, if a bit dark for kiddies. British Museum could have some Greek God action with the Marbles. Keswick Pencil Museum could have The Snowman. As long as we get Brian Blessed as something shouty and bearded (Viking?) I'll be happy. And another Dick van Dyke cameo? More
