The Quiet Ones Trailer Stalks Online
Jared Harris deals with dark forces

Today (at least, if you’re reading this on October 31) is Hallowe’en, so it seems somehow fitting that this is the day Lionsgate choose to release the first teaser trailer for Hammer’s supernatural chiller, The Quiet Ones. Take a look courtesy of Yahoo.

Jared Harris stars as Professor Coupland, a charismatic, unorthodox academic at Oxford University in 1974, who decides that it would be enlightening to experiment with dark forces. The irony, it seems, was lost on him.

So the prof and his students try to see if they can create a poltergeist from negative human energy. Naturally, things turn scare-shape. If we’re honest, you’d think someone would have pointed out that that was likely to happen.

It’s inspired by true events, and there’s certainly a push here to frame it as semi-found footage, though not completely. Sam Claflin, Erin Richards, Olivia Cooke and Rory Fleck-Byrne are among the cast, and writer-director John Pogue brought it to life alongside co-writers Oren Moverman and Craig Rosenberg. The Quiet Ones is out on April 11 next year.
