New Captain America: The Winter Soldier Poster
Move over, Thor

Now that the U.S. Government shutdown is over (for the time being), the helicarriers are flying again, and Captain America has had time to channel his inner Brad Pitt, staring out at the land of the free and the home of the brave on this new World War Z-channeling Winter Soldier poster.

Unveiled to capitalise on the surge of interest in Marvel projects that Thor: The Dark World's imminent release has brought about, there's not a huge amount to say about this one-sheet: Chris Evans' 'Cap looks cool, even from the back, even though it looks like he might fall out of the sky at any minute.

Beneath him is Washington, and with it the chance to wreck a major city, as is often the wont of a superhero movie, but with this being The Capitol, and Captain America being, well, Captain America, it's all the more important for the red-white-and-blue-emblazoned super soldier.

The Winter Soldier of the title is the sidekick formerly known as Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), who we last saw plunging to his apparent doom off an icy mountain in Europe. But using typical superhero logic, comics writer Ed Brubaker plucked him from supposed death, had him cybernetically augmented, brainwashed and turned into an assassin.

Now he’s in modern-day Washington, causing trouble for his old mate Steve, who will need some help from Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and The Falcon (Anthony Mackie) if he’s going to fight this battle and win.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier was directed by Anthony and Joe Russo. It also features Cobie Smulders, Samuel L. Jackson, Hayley Atwell, Emily VanCamp, Toby Jones, Frank Grillo and some young newcomer called Robert Redford. The film is out on April 4 next year.

RE: Spoilers?!
I think many people probably looked up the winter soldier when the title was announced. I don't think I did that, but I've sadly seen enough articles that mention his identity. More

Hang on ...
"the surge of interest in Marvel projects that Thor: The Dark World's imminent release has brought about?" So, that interest is attributable to Thor 2 is it? It has nothing to do with the absolute blanket coverage of Marvel projects that's been forced down the public's throat since 2008, then? Nothing to do with the fact that the content of Joss Whedon's turds has become viable news items, then? Nothing at all to do with articles concerning movies that won't even be shot until 2016, th More

I've read the comic myself so I already know the identity of the Winter Soldier but what the hell are Empire playing at by repeatedly spoiling the twist of who he is in every single article about the film?! More
