Dinklage On For Days Of Future Past
And Bryan Singer talks up the film

14 February 2013  |  Written by James White  |  Source: Bryan Singer

Peter Dinklage, Game Of Thrones

Good news for fans of a man known for great acting, a quick sense of humour and, possibly most importantly, slapping the living daylights out of Joffrey Baratheon on Game Of Thrones (see below). Yes, Tyrion Lannister himself, better known as Peter Dinklage, has joined the cast of X-Men: Days Of Future Past.

Bryan Singer broke the news himself on Twitter but, unlike most of his other announcements, this one comes wrapped in more mystery as Dinklage is not a veteran of the other X-Men movies, so we don’t yet know what role he’s taking.

The film will see mutants from different time periods fighting to stop a potential future where they are corralled in internment camps and Sentinels patrol the streets.

Already announced as returning to roles are (deep breath) James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart and Anna Paquin, amongst others.

Out promoting his latest, Jack The Giant Slayer, Singer talked about the First Class sequel, revealing that he starts shooting (in native 3D) in Montreal in April and will be in for the long haul, with a wrap expected in October. Part of the film – featuring McAvoy and the other younger versions of the mutants – will be set in the 1970s and Richard Nixon will be popping up as a character. For more from Singer, head to Collider. Or read our recent Singer interview here.

X-Men: Days Of Future Past will be out on July 18, 2014.

Your guess is as good as mine
who knows who he will be playing but my views are as follows. no to MODOK - MODOK is Iron man and AIM would not fit x-men no to Alpha Flight - the cast is already big without another team, YES to master mold - they have to voice the Sentinels somehow, but not sure they need a big name for this. given that he could simply be a new role , heavens forbid they gets some no mutants in this film More

Whats the Point?
You can have the best casting in the world but with Singer directing it will probably be a complete waste of time. He'll take these great characters and turn them into boring idiots with paper thin motivation and cliche action set pieces. I caught the end of Superman Returns off the telly the other day (I actually like this film a lot) and watched as a real Superman cut to a completelly fake CGI Superman who looks like he just stepped out of a computer game. What decent director makes those sor More

Puck!!!
He's got to be Puck from Alpha Flight aka Eugene Judd. There's history between both Wolverine and the X-Men with Alpha Flight. He'd be spot on to play him...he's basically a super powered midget! Perfick! More
