Downey Jr Wants To Meet The Judge
Jack Nicholson could be his dad

14 November 2012  |  Written by James White  |  Source: The Hollywood Reporter

Robert Downey Jr., Jack Nicholson

With his latest shooting stint filling Iron Man’s armour now behind him, Robert Downey Jr is on the hunt for films to keep him busy in 2013. He has various projects in development, and has added another to that ever-growing list: The Judge.

The drama would see Downey Jr starring as a successful lawyer who returns home for his mother’s funeral. But in a twist, he discovers that his father, who suffers from Alzheimer’s, may have killed her, and that he’s now the main murder suspect.

Our man decides to represent his pop in court, and in the process finds something new and more decent within himself.

Downey Jr and his producing partners (including his wife, Susan Downey) are now courting Jack Nicholson to play the role of the father. Given the picky actor’s general reluctance to take on new roles, it might be an uphill battle, but everyone’s hopeful.

Nick Schenk wrote the script and David Dobkin is attached to direct and co-produce. It’s anyone’s guess when this will start shooting.
