Evans Knows A Many Splintered Thing
He'll woo Michelle Monaghan

06 September 2012  |  Written by James White  |  Source: Deadline

Evans Knows A Many Splintered Thing

Chris Evans might have helped saved New York (and by extension, the world) as Captain America in The Avengers, but can he conquer the heart of one woman? The reply should naturally be, ‘Have you seen the man? He’s got a pretty good chance…’ Yet he’ll face more of a challenge in A Many Splintered Thing, which will find him attempting to woo Michelle Monaghan.

Written by Chris Shafer and Paul Vicknar, the movie will follow a disillusioned young man who finagles his way into a charity dinner by pretending to be a big-time philanthropist. There, he meets a beautiful woman who appears unobtainable, since she’s engaged to someone else. But from the sounds of it, she’s not in the happiest relationship, since her fiancé is a bore that doesn’t like her going out much.

So our hero, newly inspired in the romantic arts, strikes up a platonic relationship with her, all the while attempting to win her love.

Justin Reardon, who is also attached to make indie comedy Convention, looks set to direct this one starting next month once the rest of the cast has been locked down. Evans will next be seen in The Iceman and Snowpiercer, and will be back on Marvel duty when Captain America: The Winter Soldier shoots next year. Monaghan has a few movies coming up, including Penthouse North, Better Living Through Chemistry and Tomorrow You’re Gone.
