The Last Stand Poster Arrives Online
Arnie is The Law!

14 August 2012  |  Written by James White  |  Source: IGN

submit to reddit

It’s an Arnie photogasm at the moment, what with the first pic from The Tomb, the Expendables 2 premiere and now a look at the poster for his latest action thriller The Last Stand, courtesy of IGN. You can take a look below – click to enlarge it.

The Last Stand finds Arnie as former LAPD narcotics officer Ray Owens, who left his old life under a cloud of remorse and regret after a bungled operation resulted in several dead cops. He’s since settled into a relatively quiet life as the sheriff of sleepy border town Summerton Junction.

But then his peace and tranquillity is shattered when notorious drug kingpin Gabriel Cortez (Eduardo Noriega) breaks free from an FBI prisoner transport and heads for the Mexican border at top speed. He’s got a heavily armed bunch of mercenaries, a specially-outfitted Corvette and a hostage. So the scene is set for a stand-off in Summerton between Cortez and the massed US law enforcement team, led by Forest Whitaker's Agent John Bannister. Owens is at first counted out because of his background and seemingly low-rent team (including Luis Guzman and Johnny Knoxville), but soon rallies his troops to stop the villain in his tracks…

The poster's tagline warns, "Not in his town. Not on his watch." Given the appearance of a more wrinkly Arnie, it could theoretically add, "Not on his lawn".

The Last Stand is out on Janury 18 in the US and January 25 over here.

Another bad photoshop
I love that it's an Arnie movie, sounds like a lot of fun, yet another head is waaaay bigger than the body publicity shot though a la 'Meet the Parents' highlighted in Empires 'badly photoshopped movie posters' feature a few months back. I can't understand how these marketing companies/designers get away with it. More

brilliant. love it. i really hope this is good and i like the premise. but can we have an answer to the reason for what looks like a Camaro in the back ground? GM/Chevy have a lot of product placement in this movie by any chance?? big fan of REAL 60s and 70s muscle cars but it spoils the poster which shoulda just been the big man looking all steely. whatever, I'm there! Have you noticed?
Why have they flipped the photo? Note: shirt buttons up wrong, badge on wrong side – and Arnie is now lefthanded. Suppose they thought he'd look more dynamic looking left to right… More
