Killing Them Softly Trailer Shoots In
Brad Pitt kills from a distance

02 August 2012  |  Written by James White  |  Source: YouTube

Of the three trailers that have premiered today, by far the most anticipated and, may we say, exciting, is that for Andrew Dominik’s return to the cinema, Killing Them Softly. To see Brad Pitt get smoothly violent in a twisted crime tale, check out the footage below.

Adapted from George V Higgins’ novel Cogan’s Trade, the film finds Pitt as a hitman hired to track down and kill two low-level criminals (Scoot McNairy and Ben Mendelsohn) who made the mistake of robbing a mob poker game.

What transpires is much more than your typical crime thriller (this is from the man who made The Assassination Of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford, after all)l, and boasts an eclectic cast including Richard Jenkins, James Gandolfini, Ray Liotta and Sam Shepard.

Our Damon Wise saw it at Cannes and had mixed feelings, but we’re still itching to see it. The movie arrives on September 21.

RE: Blown away
L: UTB Looks ok, very stylish, but not really anything new, no? till take it over Lawless or Gangster Squad. There's a good mix of old and new faces in the cast. If they have made something as involving as The Assassination of Jesse James then it will be one of the years best. More
