Comic-Con: Ant-Man Is Confirmed
Edgar Wright shows off test footage

So, Edgar Wright has been tweeting all week that he's in London. London. Not San Diego. London. But we were onto his ruse from the start - and today at Comic-Con the director bounded into Hall H to confirm that Ant-Man, his long-awaited adaptation of the classic Marvel character, will be happening.

There's no date yet, nor any casting news, but Wright did bring along some test footage that he shot with a member of Brad Allen's stunt team just two weeks ago. And it was absolutely fantastic.

It begins with two agents - ominous, shades-wearing - at the end of a long, white corridor. We pull back behind an air vent to reveal... Ant-Man, tiny as they come, sporting a red-and-black suit, with a mask that's a nod to the original Kirby design.

He then jumps through the vent, runs along the corridor and zaps to normal size. The agents draw their guns. Ant-Man changes back and leaps INTO the mouth of one of the agents, knocking him out. He then grabs the tie of the other and flips him through the window. Agents dealt with, he changes back to normal size, enters an elevator and then zaps back down again.

It looked great, despite the fact that it was an unfinished test (when we saw normal-sized Ant-Man, it was a stuntman in a warehouse on wires), but it had plenty of Wright's trademark kineticism. "It's action-packed," he quipped. "Ant-Man will kick your ass, an inch at a time."

More news on Ant-Man as we get it.

Ant Maaan!
Well that just made my day. Seriously. If he appears in Avenger 2 too then, well... I'm gonna go ahead and give Marvel all my money. I'm getting HUGE Earth's Mightiest Heroes pining right now. Hope they take that characterisation rather than the dark shit which makes him so unlikeable most of the time. More

Michael Shanks
Michael Shanks would be great. I know... he played Hawkman in Smallville (and was awesome!) but still, he'd be a really great Hank/Ant-Man More
