Taken 2 Trailer Escapes Online
'We will have our revenge...'

22 June 2012  |  Written by James White  |  Source: Yahoo Australia

submit to reddit

While he was understandably miffed that slave traders kidnapped his daughter back in 2008’s Taken, Liam Neeson is now learning that his stabby / shooty reaction had consequences. Here comes the trailer for Taken 2, which finds his heroic Bryan Mills in a spot of trouble thanks to Rade Serbedzija’s Murad and his need for revenge for the deaths last time. Take a look below.

After a pleasant surprise visit from daughter Kim (Maggie Grace) and wife Lenore (Famke Janssen) in Istanbul, Bryan gets a less enjoyable shock when Lenore is targeted and he’s threatened. Guess what he’s going to do? Yup, he’s going to use his particular set of skills to try to save his family (and himself) once more.

Olivier Megaton takes over directing duties this time around and delivers almost exactly what you’d expect, judging by this footage. We know Neeson can deliver the action goods, so the only real question is, will this live up to the original?

Taken 2 will hit our screens on October 5.

Taken only got 1 star?!! Poor Liam
It has come to my attention that the first Taken film only got 1 star? I instantly start comparing it to the likes of Project X or Top Cat which got the same rating (deservedly). It's clearly better than that surely the fact that Liam Neeson is in it earns the film at least another star on top of that?! More

The first one was terrible, but fun, If this is the same I'll catch it on Bluray/DVD, but won't fork out the cash to see it at the cinema unless it gets some stellar reviews. More

Come on guys
the only reason the first one was so successful was Liam Neeson. This was a B-Movie at best, with cheesy lines, stereotypic villains, action scenes that we all have seen before, and so on. Imagine Stallone or Statham in that role - that films would have bombed. But Neeson somehow managed to lift this into proper A-territory! More

When a film makes ten times its money thats you answer to a sequel. I loved the first film, and still laugh at the 'one star' rating from my trusted mag. Loving a film is like loving someone of the opposite sex, it is in the eyes of the beholder. More

RE: his wife
I thought the original was HEE-LARIOUS. A (surely deliberate?) parody of how paranoid Americans view foreigners/the outside world. I also loved the linear A-B plotting and how Big Liam oh-so-conveniently ppened into the right people ALL THE TIME. He arrives at the airport in Paris andappens into the guy who kidnapped his daughter. He goes to the brothel and ppensterally) pick up the one drug-addled girl who just happens to know his daughter. They must be NUTS to ever leave US soil again after the last movie, especially so soon after. The guy from Snatch is out to get revenge...yawn. The bad guys this time should have come to his turf I reckon, but America won't want to show "baddies" being let into US. Better to kick their ass in their own country, hell yeah! More

RE: Reviews
But if one person gives if 5 stars, one person gives it 1 star - I'm not sure what basis you use to choose a take? Whichever fits your existing view of the film formed from your anticipation raised from other information? It seems to be making the review kind of redundant. And scores are really blunt instruments, which pretty much all reviewers seem to agree with. If it's a balance of reviews then perhaps the Metacritic score for the film might be a way to go? It will look at reviews from More
