If you ever wondered what would happen if a wig and paint factory exploded while a busload of actors was taking a tour, then Adam Shankman’s adaptation of ‘80s hair rawk jukebox musical Rock Of Ages might just provide an answer.

Rock Of Ages features a swarm of names including Julianne Hough, Tom Cruise, Diego Boneta, Alec Baldwin, Russell Brand, Malin Akerman, Bryan Cranston, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Paul Giamatti and Mary J. Blige.

It’s the tale of small-town girl Sherrie Christia (Hough), who arrives in Los Angeles looking to be a star. But she’s seduced by more than fame when she falls for both young bartender Drew Boley (Boneta) and swaggering rock idol Stacee Jaxx (Cruise).

And there’s more trouble afoot for the rock scene as the upright and uptight Patricia Whitmore (Zeta-Jones) will do anything to wipe out what she sees as a pit of sinful lust and loud music.

As well as the trailer, the poster is now online via Collider.

It looks like Shankman, working from a script that has seen contributions from the musical’s book writer Chris D’Arienzo as well as Allan Loeb, Jordan Roberts and Justin Theroux, has cranked the camp factor up to 11 with this one. Let us know your thoughts…

Shock Rock
I wasn't too sure about this to start but with Baldwin and Brand cracking a few jokes it could be good. Plus Tom Cruise looks like he's on Len Grossman/Magnolia form so it could be another great cameo. Rock on! More
