Fright Night Trailer Online
Colin Farrell is after a quick bite

After a variety of pictures hit the ‘net – with one or two cropping up exclusively in Empire itself – we’re finally getting a chance to see moving footage from Fright Night, starring Colin Farrell, Anton Yelchin, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Imogen Poots. Take a look at the trailer below.

Directed by Craig Gillespie and scripted by former Buffy writer Marti Noxon, this new take on the 1985 Tom Holland horror comedy finds Yelchin inheriting the role of Charley Brewster, your average smart teenager who comes to realise that his new neighbour, Jerry Dandridge (Farrell) might be something less than average himself.

Spurred on by his horror-obsessed pal “Evil” Ed Thompson (Mintz-Plasse), Charley becomes convinced that Jerry is a vampire and that he’s got designs on various local women, including Charley’s mum Jane (Toni Collette) and girlfriend Amy (Poots). So our hero enlists the help of OTT stage magician Peter Vincent (David Tennant, who's barely in this trailer) in his fight to stop Jerry’s reign of fanged terror.

There are definitely a few dark moments here, but watch the trailer, then tell us whether it gets you excited to see the new version or just itching to dig out that DVD copy of the original…

Fright Night
will arrive on September 2.

it just looks like they have used the name of fright night to get another sub par vampire movie made, were's Dandridge's butt buddy?, looks like they've tried to make it too hip and contemporary More

Liked the original and I like the look of this. But it's still early, the film's not out till September I think so they may have time to tidy up the effects. As long as it's not in 3D More

L: weelenny And, we've only seen pics of Peter Vincent in his long hair, leather jacket look - and in the trailer he's clean shaven with short hair. Am i the only one who's noticed this? I think we're being teased...... noticed it too, I think the Vincent we've seen is his stage persona but we also see him without his make-up More

L: evildave69 I've not seen the original and if i'm going to honest, it doesn't really leap out at me as something I really should see. if you watch a lot of pre 80s horror then its a must see. "Apparently your generation doesn't want to see vampire killers anymore, nor vampires either. All they want to see are demented madmen running around in ski masks hacking up young virgins." "Oh you're so cool Brewster! I can't stand it." More

looks good, haven't seen the original so this is new to me. Farrel looks very creepy as the villain, agree with other posters, hope Tennant isn't too much of a support More
