New Pirates Poster Washes Ashore
Penelope Cruz's Angelica is here...

That’s it, we’re calling it… It’s Pirates Week. How else do you explain the boatload of new images from Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides alongside all the seemingly unrelated pirates-themed stories cropping up online? The latest Pirates-capital-P picture we’ve been sent finally gives us a break from staring at Johnny Depp’s homely mug, with a look at the beauteous Penelope Cruz as Angelica.

Angelica’s a woman who tells lies that are truths and truths that are lies. She may or may not be the daughter of the feared Blackbeard himself. She’s also a master of disguises who learned the art of the con from the best, one Captain Jack Sparrow. An accomplished sailor who can wield a sword, fight and plunder with the fiercest of pirates, Angelica is hell-bent on one goal: to save the eternal soul of Blackbeard from certain damnation, even if it means matching Captain Jack lie for lie and double cross for double cross. Apparently.

Depp and Cruz are joined by Ian McShane as Blackbeard, with Astrid Berges-Frisbey, Gemma Ward, Stephen Graham, Judi Dench, Sam Clafin, Richard Griffiths and Geoffrey Rush also aboard, while director Rob Marshall is guiding the ship.

Click on the image below to see it in glorious high-res in our gallery.

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides will dock in 2D and 3D on May 18.

Cruzing The Seven Seas
Penelope Cruz is a good choice for the love interest of Johnny Depp - they both have this beautiful childlike quality about them. Could be a good match. More
