New Back To The Future Trailer
It's back to the big screen. Oh boy!

06 August 2010  |  Written by Helen O'Hara  |  Source: Exclusive

Let us all bow our heads and give thanks for Back to the Future, without which we wouldn't know what a flux capacitor was or the significance of 1.21 gigawatts. Today we've got a new trailer for the film, cut in what we're assuming is a deliberately 1980s style, for the re-release (yes, you heard that right!) this October.

The original film will be released in cinemas on October 1 (yes, in the UK), with the entire trilogy on Blu ray following on October 25. We're told it'll have two hours of new extras to boot - including a retrospective documentary with all involved, a discussion about the film's physics and a storyboard alternate ending sequence. Plus it'll be all digital and shiny.

Given that we still have 5 years to wait until Marty McFly turns up in the future in Back to the Future Part II (by which point we'll all have hoverboards, hooray!), this should keep us going in the meantime.

L: Dalekbuster523 Anyway, what the hell is the point in seeing a film you've probably seen about 100 times on TV anyway? 've seen Jaws many times on the TV, but for the first time saw it at the cinema last year. I had to drive for 2 hours to get there but it was worth it a hundred times over. Simply the best experience seeing it on the big screen, surrounded by like minded folk, many of who had never seen it before. Luckily I saw BTTF the first time at the cinema. Not my favouri More

RE: For a minute there
I saw BTTF recently in the Belfast Odeon as part of their flashback season, but the print was pretty bad and several bits of dialogue were impossible to make out (even though I knew exactly what they were saying).   I reckon I'll still go see this if there's one near me though. More

L: Scruffybobby As many times as I've seen BTTF  (and it's a pretty unhealthy amount) none of them have been at the cinema since 1985. I am really very excited to see it on the big screen again. One thing that does kinda suck though. The film I'm now most anticipating at the cinema this year is 25 years old. Have Hollywood films really become so uninspiring? Or am I just showing my age? n agreement here. I can't think of a single film to be released this year which I would rathe More

RE: Time For An Old Joke...
The Total Film BTTF cock-up was as follows (sorry for the link to rival site, Empire bosses)... They photoshopped a screengrab of the display panel from the DeLorean so it read JUL 05 2010 and proclaimed that day 'Future Day' and posted it on Twitter... ...then it went viral with idiots around the world started forwarding it on to everyone saying that this was the date they went to the future in Part II, saying 'hilarious' things like "where are our hoverboards and power laces?"...
