Will Smith On For The Legend Of Cain?
Bible? Meet vampires. No, really…

18 July 2010  |  Written by James White  |  Source: Deadline

No, Will Smith is not aiming to star in a version of the Michael Caine story. Wrong spelling, and we’re not sure Smith could pull off Sir Maurice without resorting to Lenny Henry-in-True-Identity-style make-up and a heck of an accent coach. But he is considering an interesting take on the Biblical wrongdoer and son of Adam & Eve in The Legend of Cain.

The movie would apparently see him playing the original villain, but with a slight twist: he’s a vampire. Yup, it's true, according to Deadline.

Very little else is known about the script, other than it was written by Caleeb Pinkett (younger brother to Smith’s missus, Jada Pinkett Smith) and Dan Knauf, with World Trade Center scribe Andrea Berloff busy polishing it up so Overbrook Entertainment can start pitching it to studios.

It would seem that there’s no genre of level of literature safe from the encroaching trend of fang-baring beasts, but this could at least be an intriguing twist on the idea. Not sure how Biblical purists will respond, though.

Smith, meanwhile, is getting set to don the Ray-Bans again for Men in Black III, which should kick off shooting next month.

RE: The Bible: The Roots Revision
L: BenTramer Hold on, so Adam and Eve's kid is now black? Who will play Adam and Eve, Samuel L. Jackson and Halle Berry? Bet the snake is a white guy, they've got to bash 'Ol Whitey every time, right? sp; Why would Adam and Eve have been white? More

RE: Will Smith On For The Legend Of Cain?
Not that much of an original twist - the old World of Darkness by White Wolf games (which led to two PC games) had Cain as the first vampire. God's curse for killing Abel was to become a vampire. Cue much emo wailing and gnashing of pointy teeth... More

Video game....
Cain..... Vampire........ Any chance that this could be a take on the video game franchise of the LEGACY of Cain? Seems plausible considering how successful the game was and how rich the story was when you take into account the whole saga like soul reaver etc Seems like a logical thought to me hope I'm right if I'm honest Vampires need a good reboot after a poor start to the 21st century More

I always liked Neil Gaiman's take on the brothers in Sandman. Cain is eternally finding new ways to do his brother in. More
