The Scott Pilgrim Trailer Is Here!
Get out your flaming swords, people...

25 March 2010  |  Written by Alastair Plumb

ZOMG! The Scott Pilgrim vs The World trailer has landed, and it’s pretty flippin’ wild. Look forward to flaming swords, girls with alternating colour hair and 7 evil exes – all of whom need defeating.

That’s right, defeating. If you’re not aware of the premise, it’s just your average boy meets girl, boy snuggles with girl, girl tells boy she has 7 exes, all of whom must be beaten in battle in order for said boy and said girl to, um, ‘date’, tale.

Seems like a lot of effort for just one little lady (played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead), but hey, it’s young love, that’s how it goes. The trailer is a tremendous flurry of asses being kicked and punches being thrown, comic book-style (appropriate considering its graphic novel origins), and, dare we say it, director Edgar Wright must be chuffed with how it looks.

Plus, it includes an appearance of Captain America to be, Chris Evans, slinging Michael Cera into a tower, so that makes it definitely, definitely, definitely worth watching. No offence Michael, it just looks cool is all. You know how it is.

Oh, and just so you know, Scott Pilgrim vs The World is out on August 6.

This looks great and I can't wait. As for Adam West's Batman this clip sums up why I love Adam West's Batman www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZxLY_uo-cuQn lands on a box, is catapulted out of a window in to the sea AND EXPLODES! What's not to like? Plus the influence of Adam West's Batman makes Kick-Ass just a little bit more ace then it already is. More

Haha! Love the look of this; silly, OTT, and just good dumb fun! I've been pondering the comic, and I think my mind has just been made up.   An Epic of Epic Epicness? Genius! More

RE: Aimed at teens? Funny, kinda like a comic book...
Isn't it amazing how a bad haircut can really detract from a womans beauty. That said it looks ok. It appears to be one of those films which is trying too hard to stick to the comic it is based on down to replicating scenes but then I suppose having a comic book already drawn saves on those story board overheads. the down side is that it will not have a voice of its own and as the comic itself is rather a cult thing it does need to stand on its own two feet to really be a success. L: Drone L: Mopictures All the people who are saying this looks crap are missing the point in a big way. It's an adaptation of a comic that is just as balmy and indie-quirky. And, like most comic-book adap trailers, it's almost impossible to make a good indication of the quality of the film as the power is always in the original text - which let's face it gets left out of most trailers. At the end of the day, I think Scott Pilgrim fans will love it, which sounds pretty appropriate More

So original! Really want to see it, but...
it seems Cera's acting abilities are limited to exactly the same voice and character in every single film he does. More

L: John_Connor Gazz, everyone knows who/what The Hulk is! I'm talking within the context of influential CB/GN movies think you've misunderstood my use of the Hulk photo to make a point. You refer to Sin City as being the first film to bring "GN to Screen" in terms of style and I think Ang Lee's "Hulk" pips Sin City to the finish when we consider that it's truly the first comic book adaption that mimicked the comic book experience through it's execution. Scott Pilgrim is amazing
I have read the first five books (the final book comes out with the movie apparently) and they are so funny and absolutely excellent. Ironically, the title, "Vs. The World, is actually the worst book, in my opinion. Book five, "Vs. The Universe", is the best. It is actually "exes" btw, not "ex-boyfriends"... that's important *wink* More
