Exclusive: New Daybreakers Poster
Ethan Hawke vamps it up

18 November 2009  |  Written by Helen O'Hara

submit to reddit

Another day, another animal-biting vampire called Edward - but while this one's still a bit mopey, Ethan Hawke's take on the undead in Daybreakers is very different from Twilight. For one thing, he lives in a world full of vampires. For another, the blood they all depend on is running out.

Directed by the Spierig brothers, the film also stars Sam Neill channelling Event Horizon as the smooth-but-sinister head of a major blood corporation and Willem Dafoe as the leader of a group of rebels against the bloodsucking status quo.

Daybreakers is out, after a very long delay, next January 8.

Sounds like a good idea for a film, the worrying thing is that they've chosen to dump the film in January. That's when they put out all the crap movies as all the biggies opened at Christmas and very little is getting released. It might be better on DVD. More

a new take on vampires
thank god for this! this looks like a cool takle on the vampire genre. Twilight is abit wearing off me now but this has a touch of 'Underworld' of it and looks more sophisicated! plus it looks like it doesn't take itself too seriously like the Twilight saga. hope film lives up to promise! More
