JEKYLL Whoa, there's strange things are definetly a foot in this lab dude!
HYDE Yea, it's like totally causing me to grow hair in small places man!

HYDE Yea, it tastes like Kool Aid, too dude!
JEKYLL & HYDE Excellent!
They strum their air guitar and knock over the rest of the lab specimens. The lab SPARKS, catches fire and EXPLODES.

Reeves is a very poor choice for such a complex role. Unless the story has been dumbed down considerably of course. More

Given the title and that the reception of the BBC show in the US got more notice for Moffat and, inexplicably, work for Bellman over there, it is hard to escape the view this project has more to do with Moffat's than anything else. I wonder how close it will be?

He actually did an ok job in The Gift, nothing amazing, but enough to suggest he might actually be better as a bad guy. Dougray Scott did make a tv film of Jekyll and Hyde last year, but it wasn't the BBC mini-series (which was actually from 2007). More

Can't remember the last time I laughed so much at a casting choice. How are they going to move his face for Jekyll? Most emotion the man has ever come close to showing on screen was behind the CGI in A Scanner Darkly. More

I'd say Christian Bale, Hugh Jackman, Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell, Jude Law, Matt Damon, not Keanu Reeves well maybe if he's playing Bill Hyde and Ted Jekyll. Not too sure about this casting choice. More

I used to like Keanu Reeves and in some parts I still do, but since watching him in The day the earth stood still, I conclude he can't pull off zainy and interesting characters, Klaatu was played so dull that I recon the film would have been far more better if a more charismatic and wild actor played him.
Same with doctor Jekyl and Hyde, I personally recon I wont be able to tell the difference between the two as he will be reading the lines in the same wooden way he always plays larger then li More

Just what we need another update of the well trodden Jekyll & Hyde story. I'll join the others who said it was James Nesbitt in Hyde and not the should-have-been-but -would-have-sucked-Wolverine Dougary Scott. A dumb mistake Empire. I though hated the series as it turned Jekyll into an avenging anti-superhero and not the murderous monster HG Wells intended. I like Keanu so will watch this but his movies eitther Rocked or Sucked theres no middle ground with him. I fear this over-told stor More

| Oh good, another updating of the Jekyll story |
Seriously, how many times do we have to go through a "contemporary retelling"? Christ, we had the Hulk again last year which effectively deals with the beast inside.
And to cast Keanu Reeves is a mistake because his emotional range doesn't go beyond slightly vexed these days.
Bollocks to this. More

| WHY.. |
Does Jekyll always get modernized? It's b*llocks. One of the main points of the physical transformation came from the idea in Victorian medicine that you could tell what someone was like from the shape of the bodies. The book is very much of its time and losing that loses all the richness. I don't want to see Keanu going 'Arrgh'. More

Was going to say, James Nesbitt was in the BBC series, without a question. Cracking series. The premise of this film seems good, but I'm not exactly sure Reeves is the right guy to play it, he usually struggles showing two sides of a personality when he's playing a normal person, let alone a guy with two separate personalities. . .
