Cusack Sues For Stopping Power Fee
Actor lodges $5.8 million lawsuit

And so the saga of Stopping Power – the Jan De Bont action movie that had its plug pulled when the financiers pulled out last year - has taken another twist, with news that John Cusack has lodged a $5.8 million lawsuit with a California Superior Court.

Cusack had been due to play the movie’s hero, who takes to the autobahns of Germany in a succession of speedy vehicles in an attempt to save his daughter from kidnappers.

It’s believed that the lawsuit, which was also filed by Cusack Enterprises, relates to his pay-or-play deal. Given that the movie didn’t play, presumably he wants to get paid and quite rightly so.

My respect for Cusack rapidly diminishes...
...as he takes this succession of leading roles in 3rd rate movies. He needs to fire his agent, get off his high horse and take a few solid supporting roles to re-establish himself. More

RE: I smell a rat...

I smell a rat...
Could it have been a plan all along to merely make some money without having to actually suffer the shame of making the film? If so, it could be a bold new career step for him. Fingers crossed the same plan is in place for 2012... More
