McG To Direct Terminator 4?
Oh, God, why?!
Source: CHUD

McG To Direct Terminator 4?
AAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!! No, seriously, AAAAARRRRRRGGGGHHH!!!!!

CHUD is reporting that McG is in talks to direct Terminator 4. Now, we actually thought the first Charlie's Angels was ok, in a completely brainless bubblegum way, but does the director of those movies and the straight-to-DVD We Are Marshall have what it takes to make a film that should feature the Terminator war we've all been waiting for?

The fourth film, which CHUD's source says is planned to go into production pre-strike and has a finished script, would take place – spoilers ahead for those who haven't seen Terminator 3 (a film that, according to an instant straw poll of the office, only I enjoyed) – after the apocalypse that John and Kate failed to prevent. John should be gathering the remaining humans to fight off the army of Skynet robots in a huge battle. Basically this is the war that's been briefly glimpsed in the previous movies and should serve as the origin of the Arnie-shaped Terminator we know and aren't sure whether to love or run from. This needs to be good.

Would you give the reins to McG? If not, then who?
Olly Richards

Oh Great
what the hell? Fox picked a charlies angels director !?! i'm sorry but i could never get into Charlies Angels at all.. the humor, the Stupid Stunts and effects.. the 2nd one with the starting sequence made me want to throw up. especially that stupid helicopter scene. anyways.. you would think that if fox would want big money out of this.. they would pick the best director of the industry including the cast, effects team, producers, script writers etc. i mean like so many people have said this is... Read More

RE:
This confirms my lack of  faith in Fox Studios. it is decisions like this that makes it impossible to feel excited about new additions in popular franchises. Let's look at the negatives: McG as a possible director. The film will look like an MTV commercial. The Rock as a Terminator - Why? Why do we need this? Vin Diesel - It's Vin Diesel.... If I was to make Terminator 4, I'd make it as a prequal. Have the movie in the future with an old John Connor sending Kyle Reece b... Read More

L: Biggus This is a critical part of the Terminator story. Like Empire said, it needs to be done right. ree. AL: jackcarter Teminator should only be done by Cameron (but he wont do it again now) or someone of his level - Ridley Scott (who was considered for T3 - guess he mustuve taken a look at the T3 script and passed)...Tony Scott maybe or Alex Proyas might be an ok choice..The Wachowskis?....then theres the likes of Michael Bay or Renny Harlin... e are interesting choices.... Read More

RE: Leave T3 alone.
This is what you get for supporting the lacklustre T3. Granted it was not the worst film ever but it was strangely underwhelming, almost like a TV pilot. The studio have realised that after the success of the extremely mediocre T3 that any Terminator film comes with a built in audience so, of course, they are going to churn them out. See the Jaws, Highlander, Halloween franchises. ... Read More

Leave T3 alone.
If T4 can be an easy fun watch like T4 great. Everyones so hard on T3. Without James Cameron in charge it was never going to be like the first two. However, I am pretty doubtful of the McG choice. Let him keep bust producing things like the O.C. and leave the films to the grown ups. ... Read More
