Y !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just finished reading the comic run last night and the beef is all wrong im afraid. I, personally, think the guy is great (comedy appeal - transformers, indy) but not for yorick. Id happily push for F4's Chris Evans as someone posted earlier. More

RE: Disturbia Team Tackle Y: The Last Man
Sounds fairly interesting, I haven't read the comic, but I'm always up for some post-apocalyptic thrills. Disturbia was a nifty little piece of work, hardly original, but tight and effective, I wouldn't mind seeing what the director and screenwriter can do with this adaptation. I think LaBeouf would be a good choice for the lead, as I said I haven't read the comic, so my opinion is simply based on the fact that I like the guy, a charming, talented actor, capable of carrying a film on his own. Just saw a screen cap of Shia in DJ Caruso's upcoming feature Eagle Eye, and he looks quite a bit older than he did in Transformers. I could certainly buy him as Yorick, or at least the person Yorick was at the beginning of Y right now. I don't see how they can do the comics justice with one movie though. More

Shia LeBeouf just looks too young. A lot of Y: The Last Man revolves around the sexual politics of being the only man alive in a world of women. If the main actor looks like a kid, it makes it all a bit, well, creepy... More

Too Young!!
Shia LeBoeuf seems a tad too young too play yorick to me, he's a god actor and all but i swear that Ryan Reynolds is actually the human embodiment of Yorick! Please, please people cast him!! I know hes been in some pretty rubbishy movies but he does have acting ability and he's also (fortunately!) very cute!!! More

this is a cool comic but i dont think it can be made into ONE film, maybe a trilogy! As for casting? i dont care what people say Shia Lebouf if fantastic in everything he does but he isnt right for the part of Yorick he doesnt seem quite old enough but then again maybe thats just because hes played 'kid' roles all his life. For gods sake. Shia Le Boeuf. He would be good for........NOTHING!!. he was far and away the most annoying thing in Transformers. The last thing the world needs is another actor who can play a geeky American high school student to perfection. There's enough out there as it is and now they've stuck him in INDY 4!!!!!
Will ruin Y THe last man if that happens.
OH MAN! this is gonna be awesome, ive read all the comics thus far, and its a brilliant story, but for 'Rick im not More

Y is a great story; its engaging, funny and also pretty disturbing at times. Shia LeBeouf could pull off Yorick's pop culture references and comedy moments pretty well. The empire article makes it sound more like I Am Legend than it actually is. There's also far too much in this series of books to cover in one movie.Would be better as two movies or a tv series - the story takes place over a few years and involves many sub plots. Who caused the plague, why did Yoricka and Apersand survive, what More

It's not really like I Am Legend at all - more like Children of Men. Y the Last Man is an absolutely awesome book. Don't write it off because it's a comic. It's intelligently written and thought provoking. Scans of the whole(ish) series to date are available to download on bitorrent sites and are well worth a look. More

I would like to see it, their is not alot comic book movies that don't involve having a superhero in it, it could be refreshing to have a different kind of character in it and of course i'm a fan of magic related fiction. More

Ok, so it's another comic adaptation, but at least not a superhero one. I know there have been any number of weak adaptations which upset the fanboys (who are only a small percentage of moviegoers) but there are some great stories out there. In good hands they can translate into great movies. Y has a strong plot and engaging characters, more than many mainstream movies so who knows... More

Y:The Last man
It's a great book but there's way too much going on for one film. They'd have to distill 60 odd issues into 2 hours. Would make a great tv show though. More

Oh what a surprise
Oh look another comic book adaptation. What a surprise! That brings the total to about 465898815 this week alone.
They must have some guys whose job it tis to trawl through all the comics and graphic novels and see how they can ruin them.
Also sounds a bit like I am legend but with Amazonians instead of Vampires. Probably without any character depth though. More
