Need For Speed Trailer Races In
Aaron Paul is driven by vengeance

26 September 2013  |  Written by James White

Given all the theories that have been floating around, we have to admit that we did not see this coming as the big finish to Breaking Bad. Still, given what’s been happening to Jesse Pinkman, we can imagine him being angry and vengeful and… Sorry? Oh, right. This is the trailer for Need For Speed. Carry on. And watch the trailer below.

Adapted from the video game, Need For Speed finds Aaron Paul as Tobey Marshall, a street racer who goes into business with rich, arrogant car supplier pal Dino (Dominic Cooper), only to find himself framed when another friend dies during a race. Sent to jail, Marshall wants revenge so, once released, signs on for a cross-country race for a chance to strike back.

Then Dino learns about the scheme and puts a bounty on his head, forcing Tobey to go up against various illegal drivers in powerful vehicles. Michael Keaton is the reclusive, oddball host of the event, who invites the best racers from around the world to compete. Also in the cast are Imogen Poots (as an exotic car dealer), Rami Malek, Kid Cudi, Ramon Rodriguez and Harrison Gilbertson.

The trailer promises more of an emotional element than even the Fast & Furious films usually contain - perhaps unsurprisingly given Paul's acting chops - though we have a feeling the focus will still be on the vehicular mayhem. Need For Speed will be in UK cinemas on March 14 next year.

Your Comments

It seems promising, but I doubt it'll live up to the trailer expectations. Video game films hardly ever are (apart from Prince of Persia, while decent is lacking much (2 stars!)). More
