Ellen Page To Fight For Queen & Country
She's in negotiations for the comic book adaptation

Ellen Page, The East

Not content with simply showing back up again as Kitty Pryde for X-Men: Days Of Future Past, Ellen Page has her eye on her own comic-based potential franchise. She’s close to a deal to star in spy/action film Queen & Country.

20th Century Fox is developing the Oni Press graphic novel created by Greg Rucka. Itself inspired by 1970s ITV series The Sandbaggers, Queen focuses on Tara Chance, an agent of the Special Operations Section, which works under the SIS (think MI-6). Colloquially known as the “Minders”, its operatives must negotiate the tricky bureaucracy and politics of their missions as well as the important part about putting their lives on the line.

Chance will have to stop an international terrorist plot when her identity is compromised and her personal demons start to assert themselves.

Leverage TV creator (and Transformers story contributor) John Rogers is aboard for script duties after various writers took a crack during the project’s stay in development hell. There’s no word on a director yet, but Page’s casting means this one is finally seeing some traction.

Page was last seen in The East and is looking to make her directorial debut with Miss Stevens. She’s attached to star in Freeheld, and X-Men : Days Of Future Past will be released here on May 22 next year.

Wrong choice
Love the graphic novel series and novels but Ellen Page is the wrong choice for Tara. She's far too young unless the studio is going with the rubbish rookie-straight-out-of-spy-school-but-still-amazing tone. Also have never heard her do an English accent, so could we please have at least an English actress in the role. More
