Hayley Atwell Back For Captain America 2
So says Stanley Tucci, a scientist

14 February 2013  |  Written by Phil de Semlyen  |  Source: Collider

Hayley Atwell, Captain America

There's never a bad time to write a story about Hayley Atwell and her kick-ass '40s superhero pin-up Peggy Carter, but we'd almost given up on the two ever crossing paths again. But no! The good folk at Collider have spoken with Stanley Tucci and he let slip that Atwell's character will return in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

"I know that Hayley is going back to do a flashback scene," revealed Tucci. Sadly, he won't be doing likewise as Dr. Abraham Erskine. "I have not been asked unfortunately."

Either those original denials about Peggy's involvement were so much jiggery-pokery or the Tuch has got the wrong end of the Marvel stick. We're guessing the former. The man knows science. Besides, who could resist a heart-melting scene in which Cap (Chris Evans) thinks back over a lost life - and love - to a mournful Alan Menken ditty? See, we're already welling up.

So what do we know about Captain America: The Winter Soldier? That Emily VanCamp will be playing opposite Evans as Sharon Carter, a descendent of Peggy's, and that the big guy is faced with a tough adjustment to modern life in the wake of the Avengers' battle with Loki. Joining forces with him are Anthony Mackie's Falcon, as Joe Grillo' s Crossbones brings the nasty.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier will be with us on April 4, 2014.

I wish I knew how to quit you.
This is a stupid complaint, because I do it to myself, but I miss the days when, to get movie news, I'd have to wait each month the latest copy of Empire, absorb everything written within, and that would be all the movie news I got that month. I could go to the cinema and catch a film and there was a good chance I could still be surprised by it because there wasn't enough space to cover every little nugget of info about it in the magazine. Nowadays, I'm on this site, or IGN, or AICN, or where More
