Spring Breakers Trailer Parties Online
Girls gone really wild

What happens when you’re a young American lady who, along with your friends, wants nothing more than to enjoy the booze-fuelled hi-jinks of that oh-so-traditional ritual spring break? And what if you’ve no cash to fund this particular hedonistic holiday? Why, you resort to robbery of course! That’s just the start for Spring Breakers, which has just posted its first full trailer online. Take a look above.

With a cast that includes such sweet-natured Disney-level veterans as Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens, you might expect something called Spring Breakers to feature the female leads funding their trip with a bake sale or – ooh, matron! – a bikini car wash. But this is Harmony Korine territory, and while bikinis are most certainly involved, it’s also a tale of madness, cash, sex, guns and gangsters.

That's because when our heroines are promptly arrested for their crime, they’re bailed by Alien (a dreadlocked James Franco) who has a soft spot for the gang. Oh, and he wants them to assassinate his main competitor…

Spring Breakers hits our screens on April 5.

Started off interesting (girls as opposed to the usual cadre of teenage boys pulling off robberies and then getting stuck with the scary, violent consequences)... but it lost me as soon as it became obvious that the leads are girls pretty much so that they can spend half the movie in bikinis and acting like Franco's their pimp. Meh. Good luck to all the Disney actresses who think this is the way to "grow up" in Hollywood. These movies are just the way to pigeon-hole yourself into " More

This trailer taken by itself appears to be an attempt of previous teenage "clean cut" actresses to attempt to break the mould by acting out of their standard role. It seems rather cynical to be honest and the film looks rather poor from the small excerpts presented. More
