Watch The Mama Short
With an intro from Guillermo del Toro

Guillermo del Toro – albeit only wearing his producer’s hat this time – will attempt to spook us all this coming year when he unleashes horror pic Mama on the world. And he's hit the Interwebs to promote the 2008 short by Andreas and Barbara Muschietti that originally caught his eye and which led to the feature film version. Take a look above with an intro from the producer himself.

Mama, co-written by the Muschiettis and Luther creator Neil Cross, finds Annabel (Jessica Chastain) and Lucas (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) faced with the challenge of raising his two young nieces who come into their care after his brother dies.

But the tragic story is not quite as simple as that: young Victoria (Megan Charptentier) and Lily (Isabelle Nelisse) had been living in the woods alone after their parents’ demise. Except… they weren’t completely alone. And now something strange is happening in Annabel and Lucas’ house…

Promising freaky chills, Mama is set to arrive here on February 22. The trailer is below.
