Second Oz The Great & Powerful Poster
Fly, my pretties!

08 November 2012  |  Written by James White  |  Source: Yahoo

On October 31, we were shown the first promo poster from Sam Raimi’s Oz The Great And Powerful. It was a relatively quiet, moody pic. Now comes the promised second image in a series of three that will fit together into one big poster. And it’s definitely not quiet. Check it out below.

This time around, we’re treated to a cavalcade of critters, including a sort-of cute flying monkey, one who definitely isn’t, what we take to be a Munchkin and some type of pink creature that defies easy definition. It looks a bit like a baby Sleestak. But pink. With wings.

Also featured is Oscar Diggs (James Franco)’s balloon, which is the method by which he’s swept away to the magical land of Oz, gets mixed up with various witches (including Rachel Weisz’ Evanora, Mila Kunis’ Theodora and Michelle Williams’ Glinda) and ends up finding more of himself than he thought.

The new poster seems a little busy, but it also points to the audacious visual style Raimi’s looking to bring to his version of Oz. We’ll get an audience with Oz The Great & Powerful on March 8. Have a look at the first trailer below.

The thing on the monkey is...
The thing on the monkey is one of the people from "China Country" it was in the first Oz book but never made it to the classic film. They live in a country where everything is very small and made of china, including the people and animals. As a result they are very fragile and prone to smashing, although they can be mended but never look as good afterwards. When removed from China Country their joints seize up and they can't move, making them fit only for use as ornaments. More
