Scrubs' Donald Faison In Kick-Ass 2?
From Dr. Turk to Doctor Gravity

Donald Faison, the man best known to many movie fans as Murray from Clueless  and to many more TV fans as Dr. Turk from Scrubs is set to star as Doctor Gravity in the upcoming Kick-Ass 2, with a new banner (below) also being released today via Collider.

Though not fully confirmed by the studio, the one-time 'Guy Love' singer has been earmarked to play the masked vigilante character, who appears in Mark Millar's Kick-Ass 2 graphic novel.

For anyone who hasn't read it yet, Doctor Gravity is a man who claims to be a physics professor at Columbia University, armed with a baseball bat-like device called the "Gravity Pole" which can increase the weight of certain objects.

Of course, with this being Kick-Ass, this is just his story – he's actually an English major with an overactive imagination but hey, to each his own.

Faison's potential casting comes after the news that John Leguizamo will play Javier, the bodyguard assigned to protect Red Mist (Mintz-Plasse) as he plots his evil rise to power.

Though Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Nic Cage are set to return to the Kick-Ass fold, the director of the original, Matthew Vaughn, is going to be in a supervisory role with Jeff Wadlow (Never Back Down, Cry_Wolf) writing and directing.

Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall as its full title reads is set for a late 2013 release date.

RE: @Kayotik
L: edjones95 Also Universal had something to do with the first one, I'm not sure what but their logo is on the DVD so... hey distributed it after the film was finished. When you read the book you'll see the scene I'm referring to. It's not plot relevant and doesn't fit with the portrayal of the characters in the movie. But we'll see. Will be pretty grim if they do keep it. More

RE: RE: Fingers crossed
They may be missed out but then you think Fincher's The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, kept most of the books horrific moments, and the rape was five times worse. Granted I haven't read Kick-Ass 2 yet but still, have some hope... More

Empire, you've got it wrong..............
Vaughan is on script duty as comingsoon.net has stated: "Adapting the Mark Millar and John Romita, Jr. comic, the sequel will be directed by Never Back Down helmer Jeff Wadlow and will feature a script by Vaughn" More

RE: Fingers crossed...
Given that this is now a Hollywood production as opposed to the original's indie production, I doubt some of the Comic's horribly dark moments will make it into the movie adapt. Still, looking forward to seeing how they expand the comic's relatively short story as they did with the first film. More

Fingers crossed...
My only worry about this is Vaughan and Goldman not being on script duty. Hopefully it will be just as dark and witty. More
