Adam Sandler Playing With Bad Toys II
Turning another short into a film

Adam Sandler is once more grabbing up ideas from the 'net. He already has one web-short-based movie in development with Pixels, but that was just the start. Now he’s developing a big screen version of Daniel Brunet and Nicolas Douste’s clever, multi-technique short Bad Toys II.

As the name might suggest, the short is a smart skewering of Michael Bay’s hyperkinetic directing style, while at the same time celebrating his OTT action chops. It features toy cars, comic panels and animation  to create a chaotic highway chase between cops and robbers. A hybrid of playtime and highway destruction, it’s been gathering attention since it went online earlier this year.

Now Sandler – via his Happy Madison company – wants to turn the short into a film that fits his usual model of a man looking to connect with some lost or forgotten part of his life. The plot would see a guy bonding with his son through his toys and recapturing some of his own youth.

There’s no word on any writer assigned the job of making it work yet, though Brunet and Douste are on board to executive produce the film.

Take a look at the original below…
