Arterton Sprints To Runner, Runner
She's on for the online gambling drama

30 May 2012  |  Written by James White  |  Source: Variety

Arterton Sprints To Runner, Runner

With the likes of Ben Affleck and Justin Timberlake already aboard, Runner, Runner director Brad Furman is now adding some actress appeal, with Gemma Arterton signing on.

The film, by Rounders scribes Brian Koppelman and David Levien, finds Timberlake as a Princeton student who is cheated out of his tuition funds playing online poker. But when he attempts to investigate, he ends up working for the gambling site’s corrupt boss (Affleck). Still, he’ll be able to comfort himself with the love interest attention from Arterton.

With Anthony Mackie, Oliver Cooper and Sam Palladio also among the cast, Runner, Runner is set to kick off shooting next month in Puerto Rico.

Arterton was last seen in Tamara Drewe, but has a variety of movies on the horizon, including Neil Jordan’s Byzantium, Song For Marion, The Wright Girls and Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters, which had been scheduled to arrive this year, but was put back to 2013.
