Third Brave Trailer Online, Och Aye!
Pixar brings another slice of beautiful

24 April 2012  |  Written by Helen O'Hara  |  Source: Apple

Third Brave Trailer Online, Och Aye!

Give your eyeballs a bath right now with the latest trailer for Pixar's Brave, the medieval-ish, Scottish-tinged* tale of one young girl's quest not to give up archery and marry a drip. Well, that's our interpretation anyway.

This third full trailer gives a better flavour than before of the family dramas that bedevil our heroine, Merida (Kelly MacDonald), who's under pressure to marry the son of one of the three local Lairds (Kevin McKidd, Craig Ferguson, Robbie Coltrane) as befits the daughter of King Fergus (Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (Emma Thompson).

Here, the family conflict is clearer, and there's more humour from Merida's mischevious little brothers. But we're pretty sure we're still being kept in the dark on huge swathes of the story - which is fair enough really. The less we know, the better.

One thing's for sure: it all looks gorgeous. Brave is out in the US on June 22 and here on August 17 - but don't worry, work on our time machine is coming along nicely, so we're pretty sure we can shorten that gap. We just need to mutate these neutrinos...

*Director Mark Andrews says it's "our fantasy, mythical Scotland".

What?! You're off your rocker!
... Brave looks great! Saw the early 3D trailer when I saw Hugo ages ago and I'm already sold. Some people literally will pick holes in anything. Frustrated filmmakers, no doubt. Perhaps if the haters were all a little bit more positive about things they might encourage themselves to get off their arses and do it for themselves! More

I'm still not sold on this yet. I love Pixar but this just doesn't look or feel like a Pixar movie. Yes the landscape is beautiful (come on it's Scotland.) but the characters all look like that of a Dreamworks cartoon instead. They look far too cartoony - I'm aware of the irony of that statement - and just not what I've come to expect from Pixar. Not to mention the story is so generic. A girl who wants to defy expectations, who doesn't want to be a girly girl and wants to prove herself strong a More
