Frankenweenie Trailer Arrives Online
Burton's back in black and white

01 March 2012  |  Written by Ali Plumb  |  Source: Yahoo!

So here it is, the first full trailer for Tim Burton's dead-then-alive-again pet project, Frankenweenie.

A stop-motion remake of Burton's own 1984 short film, it's just as Burtonesque as you'd expect, all Corpse Bride jawlines and monochrome chiaroscuro.

Vocal talents come from a number of different sources, including a couple of Burton old hands (hello Winona Ryder), as they tell the tale of young resurrection fan and hobbying scientist Victor Frankenstein (Charlie Tahan) bringing his dead dog back to life.

The animation looks great, and it's very encouraging to see just how much this most-anticipated of Frankenstein pastiches revels in the sheer darkness of it all.

Anyway, take a look at the trailer yourself and let us know what you think. Will you be watching this, "From the director of Alice In Wonderland", when it comes out on October 5? Let us know in the comment box below.

Burton Doing Burton
Yup, it's Burton doing Burton, similar to a band releasing a new album that "revisits their old sound." He's already done this, with 'Sleepy Hollow' in 1999. And... I'm so there! As far as I'm concerned, he can produce a "Burton Movie" every now and then I do hope 'Dark Shadows' will not also be Burton-by-the-Numbers. More

Stylish
Agree with the reviewer looks very Burtonesque . I'm going to see it because I like the style though won't expect much from it in terms of originality and uniqness. To my mind it's going to be similar to Alice in the way that it's beautifully shot but has no substance. More

meh...
Tim Burton's films have been shockingly bad as of late but have no expectations on this one. On the plus point not a Johnny Depp in sight which can only be a good thing! More
