Abe Lincoln: Vampire Hunter Posters
Fanged fiends beware!

Abe Lincoln: Vampire Hunter Posters

Thanks to horror genre mash-up specialist Seth Grahame Smith, we now know that America’s 16th President, Abraham Lincoln, was fighting the vampire menace most of his life, a battle that was just as important to him as the Civil War. With producer Tim Burton and director Timur Bekmambetov shoving that idea on to the screen, the marketing gremlins for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter have now brought out two posters, which you can check out in the gallery below, courtesy of IGN.

The film finds Benjamin Walker as Abe, a man haunted by the murder of his mother, a victim of the fanged threat. Fuelled by vengeance, he swears to wipe out the vampires, but needs a little training at the hands of helpful undead type Henry Sturgess (Dominic Cooper). We get to follow his, life, including his marriage to Mary Todd Lincoln (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) and his conflict with the evil Adam (Rufus Sewell) as he tries to take down the double threat of slavery and nasty, toothy bastards.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter will be out on August 2, 2012 and we hear Steven Spielberg is even now frantically rewriting chunks of his own version of the man’s life, Lincoln to include scenes of Daniel Day-Lewis kicking serious ass. Okay, he’s not, but wouldn’t that be fun?
