December 16 is the due date for Ritchie's latest detective adventure, Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows. Some will call it Sherlock Holmes 2 – like we did in the headline – but those people would be wrong. So there you go.

We bring up the release date of Downey Jr.'s second outing as the world's greatest detective because it really isn't that far away – about six weeks now.

So it's no suprise that their publicity team are kicking things up a gear and released things like, well, this collection of character banner posters.

Showing off Jared Harris's Moriarty, Noomi Rapace's Sim and, of course, Downey Jr. and Jude Law as Holmes and Watson, it's all about the guns, the knives, the batons. This is an action movie, people, and don't you forget it!

A Game Of Shadows is out on December 16.

Holy photoshop!
I really hate this day and age of movie posters and advertising which turn humans into the videogame characters. Just loot what they have done to Noomi! On of the most personally beautiful women in the world and now she looks nothing like her. And why is Empire magazine promoting this hatred towards the art of cinema? More
