Dark Tide Trailer Swims Online
Halle Berry vs. Jaws

Dark Tide Trailer Swims Online

There are a whole three shark movies currently underway, but we're saying Dark Tide has the edge on Bait and Shark Night because it's got Halle Berry in it in a bikini. Have a look at this Dark Tide sales trailer that's leaked onto YouTube and see if you agree.

Berry plays a shark expert, naturalist and documentarian fond of diving outside a protective cage, until her boasts of almost-invincibility are undercut by her being nearly eaten by a Great White. Ahh, hubris. Subsequently she opts for a safer life, but she's convinced back into the water by an offer she can't refuse from Ralph Brown.

All of which you can glean from the promo clip, which is big on set-up but only teases the shark shenanigans that follow. Director John Stockwell was previously behind the camera for Blue Crush (surfer babes) and Into the Blue (ocean-bound treasure hunters), so at least has plenty of experience filming at sea. And he also made Turistas (aka Paradise Lost) so can handle a bit of viscera too.

Olivier Martinez is also on board, and if you were wondering, Jeanette Buerling is one of the producers. Filming took place last summer in Cape Town, but the production is still looking for a distributor, even after being up for sale at Berlin and Cannes. Perhaps that doesn't bode well...

huh?
that was one of the most boring trailers ive ever seen. ok, so Halle is gorjuss but if that's the best they can do to lure people in no wonder they haven't got a distributor yet. I know it hurt the image of the shark as a mindless killer but there really is only one shark movie. and we know which one that is. More
