Step Brothers: The Rap Album?
The man from McKay, he say 'yes!'

We’d warn you that all this appears to be in very early stages, and we truly hope he’s not joking, but Step Brothers director Adam McKay has hit the Twitter to claim that he’s working on a rap album based on the 2008 comedy starring Will Ferrell and John C Reilly as squabbling step-siblings who learn to get along, hatch get-rich schemes and, yes, indulge in some musical mayhem.

Originally spotted by the keen-eyed ‘net prowlers at The Playlist, McKay’s initial tweet on the subject gave some hope: “Are we currently working on a Step Bros rap album? Yup.” And then he followed up with confirmation in case we were all ready to hand him our other, bell-covered leg to pull... “I wasn't kidding about Step Bros rap album. And we just found out we have a crazy big time producer. Mos Def, you up for a guest flow?”

Yes, it’s enough to warm the cockles of anyone who wants to see (assuming they make videos – please say they’ll make videos!) and hear more from Brennan Huff and Dale Doback. While the movie itself made some money back, it wasn’t exactly a massive smash hit and though there have been rumours of a sequel floating around, a comedy album might just be the best way to bring the boys back to the world at large.
