New Vanishing On Seventh Street Trailer
Hide in the light

07 December 2010  |  Written by Owen Williams  |  Source: Yahoo Movies

With a release date (at least in the US) comes a new trailer for Vanishing on Seventh Street, the horror thriller from Session 9 and The Machinist's director Brad Anderson.

It's different enough to the last one to be worth a look, although the basic thrust of Hayden Christensen finding that the streets have gone all 28 Days Later, teaming up with a disparate group of survivors (Thandie Newton, John Leguizamo, Jacob Lattimore), and learning to stay in what limited light is still available because they'll be got by the shadows otherwise, remains the same.

Bits of the ropey Darkness Falls in that concept, as well as the aforementioned Danny Boyle zombie-fest, and a liberal splash of Invasion of the Body Snatchers. But Brad Anderson has yet to play a wrong note, so this ought to be a tense supernatural siege (even with Anakin Skywalker in the cast).

Distributors Magnet have booked a limited American theatrical run for the film starting February 18, but it'll be officially available online from early January. Straight-to-DVD looks likely over here.
