New Red State Poster Revealed
Smith tweets new pic

03 December 2010  |  Written by James White  |  Source: Kevin Smith

Long gone are the days when Kevin Smith will let anyone else dictate to him when he puts out new information or imagery about his next pic, Red State. Which partly explains why, shortly after new pictures arrived in the world, there’s another fresh nugget – the second poster.

Featuring actress Kerry Bishe, the poster keeps to the stark, doom-laden atmosphere that the original teaser poster fairly resonated.

And in a twist, this latest release has some charitable giving attached – Smith pushed the image into the world after asking fans via Twitter to donate $1,000 in less than half an hour to the organisation he’s slowly been setting up, the Wayne Foundation.

Intended to help runaways, abductees and other youngsters who find themselves the victims of sex crimes, the foundation can be located and donated to at this link.

Smith promises more posters in the coming week, and Red State itself will get its world premiere at January’s Sundance Film Festival.

L: Bigthompa Does anyone else think Smith may dislike Christianity a bit? (what with Dogma and now this) Quite the opposite - Smith is pretty strongly religious (he’s Catholic). I guess he tends to write what he knows. More

RE: RE:
Good for him for working on a foundation of the type described, it is good to see he is doing something worthwhile as to be honest his films and comic work over the last few years have been far from worthwhile. It is a shame, in my eyes he has gone from a must see to a may see to a don't really want to see. More

Should be good to see Smith step out of his comfort zone and it actually does look good. Posters give a awesome grindhouse feel, can't wait for a trailer. Does anyone else think Smith may dislike Christianity a bit? (what with Dogma and now this) More
