Tea Leoni Joins Tower Heist
She'll take the female lead

22 October 2010  |  Written by Owen Williams  |  Source: Variety

Brett Ratner's tall tale continues to pick up great cast members, with Tea Leoni now joining Tower Heist, alongside Ben Stiller, Eddie Murphy, Dave Chappelle, Michael Pena, Gabourey Sidibe and Alan Alda.

Leoni will play the female lead, although given the above list, that might translate to "token female". Having previously played against Jim Carrey (Fun With Dick and Jane), Adam Sandler (Spanglish), Ricky Gervais (Ghost Town), and Will Smith and Martin Lawrence (Bad Boys) we think she'll more than capably stand her ground in the action comedy.

Formerly known as Trump Heist, Tower Heist sees the blue-collar workers at not-Trump Tower (Stiller managing Sidibe and Pena) undertaking a complicated plan to steal back their pension fund from Madoff-style Wall Street tycoon Alda. Murphy is their safe-cracker ally (with his own agenda).

Shooting starts shortly, for a November 2011 release.
