New Conan Stills Online
Get 'em while they're hot

15 October 2010  |  Written by Owen Williams  |  Source: Bleeding Cool

These pics were posted and then removed from the Conan Movie Blog, but a mysterious email to Bleeding Cool means that some new stills from the forthcoming Conan movie are now available again for all to see.

We've already seen Jason Momoa in action as the Cimmerian barbarian, so these are an interesting peek at the wider picture. There's a lot of fire. And burning. And knights burning things, with fire. So we're guessing that a reasonable proportion of these shots come from early in the film, when Conan's village is destroyed. That's a serious beat from the John Milius version, but remember: reboot, not remake.

Then we've got some interiors, one of which is the first we've seen of Rachel Nichols, and another of which is supposed to contain Rose McGowan. Is that her in the red in the first shot?

We especially like the second image, a city-shot with a bit of the Tarsem Singhs about it. And we're intrigued by the pic of someone on a beach attached to what looks like a wrecked siege engine. So, on this evidence, we're remaining cautiously optimistic that Marcus Nispel has made a decent fist of his dream project.

Less welcome is the news that Conan is currently undergoing post-conversion to 3D. He arrives in cinemas, hopefully not in flakey Clash of the Titans-vision, next year.
