Brendan Fraser Suffers Furry Vengeance
Don't mess with mother nature

23 December 2009  |  Written by James White  |  Source: Apple

The first trailer for developers vs animals comedy Furry Vengeance has scampered online for your viewing pleasure.

Oh, Brendan Fraser… Really? Has your career truly come to this? A slapstick-laden wannabe laugh riot that sees a driven property magnate planning a new housing subdivision that will wipe out a swathe of Oregon forest.

Somewhat naturally (pun entirely intended, so there), the local fauna isn't too thrilled with the idea of losing their home, so some of the critters decide to fight back.

Since this is one of those trailers that seems to want to give away the majority of what it considers the "best" jokes and all of the plot, we can assume that Fraser's Neal Lyman is convinced that saving the environment is more important than making money.

On a positive - we hope - note, the movie features the work of The Hangover's Ken Jeong and Daily Show veterans Samantha Bee and Rob Riggle. Look, we know it's not much, but those are the straws and this is us grasping at them. We liked it better when this film came out before, and it was called Over The Hedge.

Go and watch the thing. But don't; say we didn't warn you - this looks like one that'll appeal largely to little kids...

The Grand Plan
This film is part of a greater plan, one that degenerates the viewers brain. It is clear that they are slowly dumbing us down so that these kinds of films become the norm. Its a gradual plan that is will take some time. Then, 10 years from now they will release 90 minute videos of coloured flash cards and make 100 million dollar weekend. More

RE:
So many of the scenes from this trailer seem like metaphors for the way Brendan Fraser's career has gone. Sad really, the man is a good actor. Hopefully he'll make a proper comeback at some point. More
