Bad Lieutenant Trailer Goes Online
Shussssh! It's unofficial...

Thanks to our friends at Collider.com, here's a sneak peak at Werner Herzog's Bad Lieutenant remake continuation, with Nicolas Cage's Louisiana cop going well and truly off the reservation in a blizzard of cocaine, fast women and ginormous handguns.

Click here to watch the trailer.

With Herzog behind the camera and a cast that includes Cage, Eva Mendes, Xzibit, Vondie Curtis-Hall and Val Kilmer, Bad Lieutenant: Port Of Call New Orleans could be a work of genius. Mad genius, but genius all the same. And it's potentially the start of a franchise. Says Cage: "You could have Bad Lieutenant: Port Of Call London next. It could happen!"

Bad Lieutenant: Port Of Call New Orleans is out in December.

It looks like The Wire meets Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas with Nicholas Cage going batshit in the middle of it all.   Count me in More

Looks good, quite funny. I liked the original Ferrara film. One thing though, Eva Mendes is a fucking ] actress. More

Looks nuts - I love it
Some great lines ('shoot'em again his souls still dancing' 'why the fuck is there an iguana on my table') and Nicolas Cage may be good again shock horror. Sadly Eva Mendes is once again cast as the Hot-Piece-of-Ass-and-Nothing-More role shame coz she's got talent. Werner Herzog has done no wrong yet yet so this is on my To See list. More

No No No
I'm a big fan of Werner Herzog not so much Cage and there is no way in hell he can top or match kietels performance in the original this has to be the most pointless remake to date, the original is a gritty, horrible but brilliant movie, Nicholas Cage should be kept well away from any remakes of any past movie good or bad!! I also heard there is plans for a remake of The Long Good Friday set in LA that is just plain wrong hollywood should leave the classics alone!! More

RE: Bad Lieutenant Trailer Goes Online
I had no idea that Werner Herzog was directing a Bad Lieutenant remake starring Nicolas Cage... this looks amazing, in either a deliberately hilarious way or a hilariously bad way. More

RE: Bad Lieutenant Trailer Goes Online
If this film is being made for laughs, tongue firmly in cheek, then it looks amazing. If it's meant to be serious, it looks hilarious and thus amazing. Nic Cage can do no right these days. More

RE: Bad Lieutenant Trailer Goes Online
There's something quite heartwarming about how dumb this looks. If it's as off-the-rails as the trailer seems to be suggesting it'll be worth a glance More

NOT QUITE A REMAKE THEN..............
Didn't realise that they were doing another Bad Lieutenant movie. Difficult to see who this film is aimed at. Nic Cage fans obviously.....but everyone else.....??? Abel Ferrara's original was pretty raw and slightly out there in it's depiction of a cop on the verge of a complete mental and physical meltdown. I take it that this film will be the slightly more commercial and teen friendly version...? More

Uhhh... okay?
I'm not the biggest fan of Abel Ferrara's original, though I still admire it for its raw intensity and willingness to ignore the rules of what to show on a screen. But this... what is this? It looks so stupid you'd get a third-grade level essay about donkey sex if you put a typewriter in front of it. I really don't think the advertisers are doing anyone a favor by writing "Academy Award-winner Nicolas Cage" either, as it's just a sad reminder that this fellow once starred in Adaptat More
