In The Loop Trailer Arrives
And it's brilliant!

Armando Iannucci is a comedy genius, as anyone who's ever watched The Day Today will know, but here's more proof in the trailer for his directorial debut In The Loop. It's one of the funniest to land in our inbox for many moons.

With satirical skills as sharp as Iannucci's, the pre-Iraq invasion dossier-filled delirium of Westminster and Washington is a bit of an open goal, but judging by this, he's absolutely buried it.

With Blairite lampoonery ("To walk the road of peace, sometimes we need to be ready to climb the mountain of conflict." "The mountain of conflict? You sound like a Nazi Julie Andrews."), Peter C#p@ldi machine-gunning obscenities at all and sundry, and James Gandolfini in blazing form, it's going to be awesome. And informative. We think.

In The Loop is out on April 17.

RE: Err
The Thick of It is amazing and I have no doubt that In The Loop will be the funniest film of the year. More

Err
Im an Armando fan, I enjoy his work. This trailer however was very average. Infact I didn't laugh once. Based on this trailer I wouldn't watch this film. Seriously though.....whats the big deal? More

Dunno about awards and box office, but its a trailer for a comedy film and I laughed at least 4 times in less than 2 minutes. If you pro rata that to a whole film I'll be needing to take a change of underwear into the cinema... More

RE: Longshot here
L: The900MidNightBee But.. 2010 Best Supporting actor: Peter Capaldi, anyone? sp; I'd certainly vote for him. The role gives him greater depth than the TV show and the quality of his performance shines through. More

RE: Longshot here
You never know, but I've pretty much given up on the Oscars ever making the right decisions, they're getting as bad as the Emmy's (last year/the year before FOUR Grey's Anatomy actors get nominated for best actor, but NOBODY from Lost?!? Come on!).   Erm, rant over. More

Critics will love it - the Box Office won't
Looks like it will be very good, but not appealing to the masses. The Critics will love it, but no-one will go see it, unless they really get the marketing right in the states (who actually have an appetite for Political Satire/Comedy). More
