RE: thoughts
L: tt904 judging by the trailer I think this movie could annoy a lot of the fans. Not because Indy 4 is going to be bad, but because it's going to look and feel more like a contemporary block-buster than they are comfortable with. The orginal, although an adventure movie, had a hard edge, the action was tough and jarring. The third movie went for scares and the third found a lot of (genuine) laughs in between the thrills. My guess is that this indy is going to resemble a mid-period Bond, More

tahoma"] year old, should my excitement be tempered by the Menaceence?? As teasers go, it's very good, as we could have expected all footage from the original trilogy and just text about the new film, as it looked to be heading that way, so all that new footage was good to see. One thing that does worry me a little is that the "tione warehouse does look to bend the laws of physics in your typical cgi way, and while it does look more "rries me that the alleged claims about the reali More

Ok, you can't judge how good a film is going to be by the trailer, how many crap movies have had great ads - Jumper anyone, and vice versa. Personally I don't mind that the new Indy movie appears to have a more up-to-date look. Despite his age Speilberg has always managed to keep up with the competition, just look at War of the Worlds for special effects. You get the impression some people want the film to be bad, that they enjoy complaining. The film isn't even out until May and yet some people in here are screaming that it looks terrible and that the CGI will ruin it. It boggles the mind it really does, the trailer does a very good job of wetting audience's appetites for the new film, and whats most important is that it looks and feels likes an Indy film. Erm, perhaps this has already been covered, but doesn't anyone find the Roswell New Mexico container of interest? Seems to confirm that aliens are involved in some way. It's the right period for Roswell, after all, and Mayan and alien cultures have plenty of history. That skull does look kind of alien, doesn't it? Maybe it crystallised in landing? RE: Sweet
Not a bad trailer. Didn't give too much away, just enough to whet the appetite.   Gotta say though, it looks like they've caved to current fashion and turned Indiana into a video game. I can't wait for the inevitable "Whip my way across the room avoiding the perils below" level. And that leather-clad villianess??? Please. It's an insult. More

Flashman
It's a miracle how 'consistent' the film looks in relation to the trilogy, and amazing that, despite the enormous desperation for information, all the set-pieces were a genuine surprise. It looks utterly great, but then, so did the first trailer for The Phantom Menace........................... More

Is it just me...
...or was that a really shoddily put-together trailer? Why have all that cheesy gumf at the beginning? What was with the editing of the theme tune? It would have made me much more excited if we'd just had the Indiana Jones bits. That said, Ford does finally look to have rediscovered his charisma. Thank God. Can't wait... More

........and to summarize how I felt I will have to quote the great Inspector Gadget and say....WOWZERS!!!!!! Literally blew my mind. Awesome. Any fears about Harrison not having the old magic were fucking extinguished the moment I seen him whip himself off the crates and...nearly lol...onto a truck. Cannot wait. More

RE: Cant wait!!!!
I know it's Indiana Jones. I know the importance to lifelong fans. I know it's only a teaser. I'm just not feeling the same level of anticipation and enthusiasm shared by 95% of the forum. I can't pinpoint the exact reason for feeling so indifferent towards not only the teaser but the entire prospect of a fourth film. It's not something trivial such as Harrison's Ford's age or the apparent use of CGI - possibly its just knowing another Hollywood franchise is being resurrected with another More

Im a massive fan of the last 3 Indiana Jones films but I was very disappointed with the new trailer. Its too fuckin clean and shiny, not like the old indy movies(hopefully its just the trailer thats like this) I thought Spielberg said he was going to shoot this using film and not that fuckin irritating(at times) HD. L: Larry of Arabia The American flag was a scene setter, I don't think there needs to be anything read into it either. I mean, if you want it to be patriotic, fine, but if you don't - American flag in an American Army basething unusual about that. If you want to impersonate the US Army, you'd better put some flags up. Take it that way.ote] Indeed my friend,  it would seem a bit odd if they had the French flag waving in the air when it's an American base now wouldn't it. Sad thing is, I think people just hear the word CGI and then don't bother to check facts before demonising it and ILM for using it along with other tools. There was a HUGE amount of model and miniature work in the prequels. Lots of shots I thought were CGI were actually models. More

My humble opinion
For what it's worth I think the trailer is great and I wasn't at all concerned by any of the effects shots - stop worrying people! I didn't think there was too much CGI, or that it looked unpolished. What heartened me most was that what I saw was a trailer for something that looked and felt like an Indiana Jones film. (If anything bothered me at all it was the shot of the Stars and Stripes - that fact that Indy was American was never a big deal before.) Now all I need to do is find someone who'l More
